Uses for video (especially FREE video)

If you have been on the Internet in the recent past, I don’t have to convince you that video is the hot item.  I don’t think this is a fad, but rather a trend.  Although I personally grew up with pencil and paper, the shift to the computer has been steady, fast and relentless since the advent of the IBM PC back in the early 80’s.  I have seen many trends develop over that time and it’s clear that video’s impact will be lasting.  The younger generations have all

Why will the trend of video “stick”?

The younger generations have all grown up with video (formerly known as “television”). The pace of the world and the data that is being presented to each of us is growing exponentially.  And our attention spans are getting shorter and shorter.  Reading seems to be a chore and having information spoon fed by video is the future, like it or not.

Free Video for Business

If you have an on-line presence, the ability to use video in your on-line marketing is huge.  We are programmed to be visual by the years of television and it’s a natural to present your company benefits in that manner.  That used to mean doing television ads, but no longer.  You can put video up on your website for nearly nothing.  Using the Loom tool, you can acquire that footage for your website for free, and presto! You are promoting your business in a modern and cost effective manner.  I don’t know of any laptop sold today that doesn’t have the capability to record both audio and video.  You probably already have everything you need to start recording video…today.

There are other uses that you can also use video for.  How about creating instructional videos for your customers for the most common questions?  Create a FAQ section on your website with answers both written and with video. That can be enormously helpful for “to do” items in your FAQ…and are well received by your customers.  Moreover, when tagged properly they can also serve as an enhancement to get more traffic to your site.  A double benefit!  Support AND Promotion.

Ok, so maybe previously you had an excuse to not use video for your business because it was hard and expensive.  Well, I think that excuse is now gone.  Once you make the choice to start generating video for your business, it’s my guess that you will wonder…

Why didn’t I do this sooner?
